Helios Building | UC Berkeley
The university community welcomes this five-story, mixed-use affordable housing with studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments for students, professionals, and long-term residents. It includes 34 residential units, with 3 live/work spaces. The property also includes a rooftop garden and ground-floor retail. It’s located near campus and public transportation.
RECO was brought in to this project for a large amount of remedial work to address previous construction deficiencies.
Mixed-use buildings like this require skilled electricians. Tenants generally include retail, restaurants, offices and residents. Retail and restaurants require specialized circuits.
Each type of space falls under different sections of the national and local building codes. The wiring must meet all of the codes simultaneously.
