Scandinavian Design | Santa Rosa

An emphasis on natural light, neutral colors, and clean lines, combining function and beauty. In 1963, founder Erling Eide attended a furniture design show in Stavanger, Norway, looking for his next business opportunity. He purchased a single container of Scandinavian furniture with just a handshake to seal the deal.

Shortly after Mr. Eide attended that furniture show, he opened a small Scandinavian Designs showroom in San Rafael, California. For a long time, Mr. Eide was a one-man operation. He went on to furnish mid-century modern homes on the West Coast in the 1960s and 1970s. Scandinavian Designs soon became known for Mid-Century Modern design. Along the way they partnered with Dania Designs, and based on its promise of quality and fair pricing, the company continues to grow.
